Did Perez Hilton's show make a hit?

himself would say, how do we put this nicely? That depends on how you define hit. The self-styled "Queen of all media" debuted his own hour-long show, "What Perez Sez About the VMAs," Tuesday night on VH1.

While we find the celeb gossip blogger's writing extremely harsh and entertaining, the man has a face that was made to be cloaked behind the veil that is the Internet. Mr. Hilton's on air persona is about as ingratiating as a nursing home administrator (only much more annoying), and his interview style is, shall we say, primitive.

There weren't any surprises in the debut of What Perez Sez because he's been saying it on his blog forever. Hates Brit Brit. Loves Amy Winehouse. We get it and, frankly, we're tired of it. After watching the debut show, one wishes Hilton spent half as much time preparing for his show as he does getting his hair dyed. In a word - hated it!
