What is Immigration? |
|
Answer:
Immigration is the movement of people from one country to another for the purpose of settling there.
The reasons to leave the country of one's birth are
varied and include political instability, few job opportunities, lack
of social ties, or natural disaster. Countries that receive a large
number of immigrants can face difficulty integrating new arrivals into
the culture, legal system, education system and economy. In many
countries around the world, immigration is a hotly debated topic.
Objections that residents have from the receiving company include fear that new immigrants will take jobs away, burden healthcare and education systems, or fundamentally change the culture. Many countries welcome immigrants, though, as they bring needed skills and fresh entrepreneurial spirit. Another challenge for every country is illegal immigration. Governments are unable to manage the levels of strain on the system if they do not know who is actually in their country.
