Whatever happened to Dr. Kevorkian?

Answer:
Assisted-suicide proponent Jack Kevorkian is
running for a Congressional seat in Michigan.

Jack Kevorkian has stated that his priority if elected will be to fight for the right to die through the Ninth Amendment.

The 79-year-old pathologist was released from prison on June 1, 2007 after serving eight years for second-degree murder. In 1988 Dr. Kevorkian assisted in the suicide of a 52-year-old man with Lou Gehrig’s disease. Kevorkian claims to have helped at least 130 people die from 1990 until 1998.

According to Dr. Kevorkian, the Ninth Amendment protects rights not explicitly specified elsewhere in the Constitution such as a person’s choice to die through assisted suicide or by refusing to wear a seat belt.
