What are the top-selling DVDs?

Based on the last five years worth of DVD sales data,

if you're ever asked to forecast the top-selling DVD of the year, animated childrens movies are always a safe bet.

In four of the last five years for which top DVD sales data was available, an animated childrens movie topped the list of best-selling DVDs:
- Happy Feet (2007)
- The Incredibles (2005)
- Shrek 2 (2004)
- Finding Nemo (2003)

The only recent exception to this trend was in 2006, when the top selling DVD was Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, although this pirate romp is arguably a childrens' movie.
