What's the buzz on Whoopi joining the View?

Answer:
Mizz Whoopi Goldberg got off to a bit of a rocky start (on The View, is there any other kind?) when she suggested that disgraced NFL player Michael Vick's recent dog fighting troubles came from a southern culture where such things (killing dogs) is acceptable.

We had instant flashbacks to Rosie O'Donnell, who
courted controversy during her 11-month run on the daytime schlock show.

The show started its 11th season (how time flies!) on Sept. 4 with Whoopi in one of the four seats alongside Barbara Walters, Joy Behar and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Whoopi seemed ill at ease with some of the topics, but that could be because the show tends to court controversy by jumping right into the trainwreck of the day, as it did with Vick's current issue.

As a comedian, Goldberg is more than equipped to hold her own with her fellow View chatterbugs.

When critics chimed in about Whoopi's big opening, many were quick to note her "down-home attitude" that they predict will keep View fans coming back for more. She's very relatable, as they say.

Buzz is good, and it appears that the View will be making Whoopi for a long time to come.
