Is Lorne Greene still alive?

Answer:
Sadly, actor Lorne Greene died on Sept. 11,
1987 of pneumonia. He was 72.

The Canadian actor is remembered by people of all ages for two rather different TV shows - the long-running western Bonanza and the short-lived sci fi series Battlestar Galactica.

Lorne Greene
became a household name with his first starring role as Ben Cartwright on the TV series Bonanza, which was on the air from 1959 to 1973.

Greene also took a starring role as Commander Adama in the TV sci fi series Battlestar Galactica. The series lasted only one season (1978-1979) but was revived for a few episodes in 1980 before being cancelled altogether. At the time of his death, Greene has just signed on for a Bonanza revival.
