What are Bridezillas?

Answer:
A combination of the words “bride
and “Godzilla,” bridezilla is a bride who is a nightmare for everyone around her.  The term may have been coined by wedding consultants, who have to deal with all different types of brides on what they consider to be “their day.”

For some reason nowadays, weddings are often considered to be the “bride’s day.”  Some brides take that as an excuse for outrageous behavior.  While a normal bride may be forgiven for being slightly self-centered during wedding preparations, a bridezilla behaves in ways that are unacceptable in every culture.

Bridezillas’ behavior can be so shocking that there is a popular show, called Bridezillas, in which camera crews follow certain bridezillas while they engage in typical bridezilla behavior.  Brides are shown smashing cakes in front of caterers, cursing out their new in-laws, threatening the groom’s friends and family, demanding the most expensive engagement ring in the jewelry store, and shrieking hysterically over seemingly trivial details.  It is unbelievable to many people that seemingly normal women can become so unhinged over wedding details, but it also makes for good TV.
