gained some heat in March 2008 when the cast and crew reunited at the 2008 Paley Festival and discussed such a possibility publicly for the first time.

At the time show creator Joss Whedon said remarked that he would like to reunite the cast to continue the story in the form of a movie or another show. The rest of the assembled cast also seemed open to the idea. Whedon said he also thinks about one day taking the Buffy storyline to Broadway.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer starred Sarah Michelle Gellar as a high school cheerleader who fights vampires with some help from her friends. The show's ratings were never stellar but critics and fans loved the show, which ran from 1997 to 2003. Gellar has said she's be willing to reprise the role if the script was right, although she is adamantly against Buffy on Broadway.
