What are the different types of mascara?

Answer:
Mascara is a popular cosmetic, used by
many women.  Mascara has historically come in three different forms: liquid, cake, and cream.  Cake mascara is an old-fashioned form of mascara that is experiencing a resurgence in popularity.  Cake mascara involves a cake-like product.  A brush is included, and the mascara is applied with a wet brush to the eyelashes.  Cream mascara is supposed to add volume to the eyelashes and separate the eyelashes with a fluid texture.  Liquid mascara is the most popular type nowadays, coming in a tube with a brush attached to the cap.

The first modern mascara was by Maybelline, created from Vaseline petroleum jelly mixed with coal dust.  Nowadays, mascara comes in many different colors, including subtle browns and blacks, as well as more unusual colors, such as blue, green, and even red, orange, and yellow.  Some mascara even includes sparkles or glitter.

In order to keep mascara from running, it is possible to purchase water-resistant or waterproof mascara that must be removed by soap and water or make-up remover.  Some mascaras are formulated to increase volume or length of the eyelashes as well.  In addition, mascara can include conditioners for the lashes.
